Special Mentoring Awards

Application Deadline: January 11

This award does not provide scholarship monies to the recipient. Rather, it provides six awardees with a mentor each for one year and with $1,000 networking funds that are set-aside for networking activities. It is offered when: 1) students have finished all of their Ph.D. course work and are preparing for exams or, 2) students have been awarded a stipend which will be withdrawn or diminished if the student receives other funds.

Goals

  • Help students pass their exams by providing them each with a mentor that will aide them through the process.
  • Keep awardees connected with the HTI community and its benefits.

As part of the networking strategy, the Special Mentoring Awardees will be required to attend the Summer Workshop. They will receive a subscription to Apuntes and The Journal of Hispanic/Latino Theology and monies to apply for memberships to either AETH or ACHTUS.
