University, seeks a faculty member in Global
Christianities and Mission Studies. Essential is a
scholarly competence in general Church History,
fluency in a spoken language other English, and
lived experience with global Christian communities
in inter-cultural or ecumenical settings. This is a
full-time, tenured or tenure-track appointment,
with rank negotiable. The appointee will teach
courses in Global Christianity, Mission Studies,
general Church History, and immersion courses in
the Global Theological Education Program in the
various degree programs of Perkins School of
Theology, and will also teach M.A. and Ph.D.
students in the Graduate Program in Religious
Studies of Dedman College. Demonstrated or
potential achievement as a teacher/scholar is also
essential. Commitment to a faith community and
an understanding of local Christian congregational
life are desirable. Position begins in the fall term,

| JUNIOR POSITION IN LATINO/A STUDIES
Harvard Divinity School seeks to attract top
candidates in the study of Latino/a religious
traditions for a new, tenure-track assistant
professorship to commence in the academic year
2009-2010. Drawing from scholars working in
Latino/a Studies, Religious Studies, Anthropology,
Theology and related fields, we hope to hire a
junior colleague whose work focuses on Latino/a
religious traditions and whose training includes
expertise and interests in theological,
ethnographical, and/or literary dimensions of these
traditions. It is also desirable for candidates to
have familiarity with Latino/a traditions in relation
to ministry in a wide variety of traditions and
settings.
Applicants must hold a doctoral degree by the time
of assuming the position in the fall of 2009, be
familiar with forms of analysis that address race,
gender, and social location, and be able to teach
and advise at the doctoral and master’s levels,
including the M.Div. program. In addition to
students in the Divinity School, the successful
candidate will teach undergraduates and graduate
students of religion in the Faculty of Arts and
Sciences.

position at rank of assistant professor in the
Department of Religion, beginning in August 2009,
with primary specializations in US Latino Religions,
Religion in Latin America or the Caribbean, and/or
Religion in the US, including indigenous religions
of the Americas. Recent Ph.D. or equivalent in
Religion preferred. Demonstrated abilities in
effective classroom teaching and scholarly research
also preferred. Must demonstrate a strong
commitment to undergraduate teaching in small
Liberal Arts institution. Participation in First-Year
Seminar program likely. Teaching responsibilities
include three classes per semester, and advising of

| Fuller Theological Seminary invites nominations and
applications for a tenure-track faculty position in
New Testament studies in support of the
Seminary’s Center for the Study of Hispanic Church
and Community, beginning Fall 2009. Rank is open.
The successful candidate will possess faith and
lifestyle congruent with the mission of Fuller
Theological Seminary as expressed in the Statement
of Faith and other statements and standards of the
Seminary, a completed PhD in New Testament
studies or a cognate field, demonstrated
competence or promise with regard to teaching and
research/writing, the ability to teach in Spanish,
and commitment to shaping pastoral leaders for
ministry in the Latino/a community. Preference will
be given to candidates with pastoral experience in
the Latino/a community, who have experience
teaching Latinos/as, and who have published in
Spanish. The normal course load is 6 courses/year,
with 3-4 courses/year offered in Spanish.
